So, how does this process work?
At Inline Web Design we know setting up your website is an important step and it can be overwhelming. We do our best to help streamline the process as much as possible.  We usually start by talking about what your website needs are, either via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or telephone at (888) 800-2061.  Once we have a good idea about what you need, we'll give you the pricing it will take to accomplish that goal.  If we need to tighten our budget we will often brainstorm about options to see if we can come up with another way to accomplish your goals. Once we asses your needs and agree on a budget, here comes the hard part.  If we are creating a Joomla website, you need to pick a template that you like.  There are literally thousands of templates, ranging from free to $60.  If we are creating a "standard" website we still need to decide what you want it to look like.  Once we agree on a look, we need to make sure you have a domain name and hosting so that we have a place to put your website as we create it.  If you already have hosting, we are happy to work with your current company.  If you need a domain name and hosting, we can help you. We have had a lot of good experiences with Rocky Mountain Domains and like them quite a bit. Our next step is to determine which pages you want on your website and Inline Website Design will start assembling your content and any photos you want on your website.  We typically have clients create their own content because nobody knows your business like you do.  However, we can help with content if you get stuck.

Why do I need a website?
In this day and age, for better or worse, technology rules.  Even if your business doesn't need a website to exist, people assume that if you don't have a website, you must not be very good at what you do. At Inline Web Design, we make the process as painless as possible.  We will work hard to create a website you will love with a price you can afford.

What is website hosting?
Website hosting is what actually allows your website to be up on the internet.  Your website is hosted in a climate controlled room on a computer that has several back up systems so that your website is protected even if the main computer crashes.  You can use what ever hosting company you like, but we at Inline Web Design highly recommend a reputable hosting company.  Cheapest is not always best.  We have had a lot of experience with Rocky Mountain Domains and have found them to be very reasonably priced, reliable and have excellent customer service.

What is a URL?
URL stands for Universal Resource Locator.  The more common term is "domain name".  This is the name of your website.  You can purchase a URL from a hosting company, we recommend Rocky Mountain Domains. If the name you want is taken, feel free to contact us, we might be able to help you find a name close to the one you want.

What is Joomla?
Joomla is what is referred to as a content management system (CMS).  Well, what in the world does that mean?  From a client's perspective Joomla allows you to do some really cool things that a standard website (one created with HTML or PHP) doesn't allow.  For most clients the most exciting aspect is that it will allow you, the client, to make your own content changes.  We can, and will, walk you through the process of changing your own content. The other feature many clients really like is that Joomla makes it easy to change the way your entire site looks.  With a standard website, you would have to recreate the entire site to change the look.  The final benefit to Joomla is the price of features.  For example, we can easily add a polling feature, a shopping cart, a login, a blog, and many other extras at a significant savings. What is Flash?
Flash is a program that allows the creation of those cool slide shows, scrolling photos and neat little dancing guys.  Many Joomla templates come with built in slide shows, like this one, but we can also create scrolling photos or an entire Flash website if you want.  Don't worry if you don't know if you need or want Flash, we at Inline Web Design will help you with all the features you need, and let you know which ones you don't need.

Can I put whatever I want on my website?
Technically, no.  Just like in print, information on the web is copyrighted.  You can't legally put a song by George Strait on your website or copy information from another website without their permission, just like nobody can legally copy the information from your website and use it without your permission.

How long will it take to get my website on the internet?
While the times vary in creating a website, the average is about 3 to 4 weeks.  If you know what you want your website to look like and you have all your content together, we can often get your website created in a week.  However, most people are not that sure about what they want their website to look like, let alone what content they want on it.  If you have a project with time constraints, we at Inline Website Design can most often meet those time constraints.  In the unlikely event we can't meet your time constraints, we will let you know up front.

What if I don't like my website?
Unfortunately, this is a common problem.  We here at Inline Web Design know that, fair or not, people see your website and judge your competence based on how your website looks and functions. Since web designers are considered consultants, there is really no industry "norm" in regard to guarantees.  However, we GUARANTEE that you will be happy with your website, or we will keep working on it until you are.

Is is expensive to get a website?
That is a little like asking if a car is expensive.  A Mercedes is expensive, a Kia is more affordable.  They are both cars and will both get you where you want to go, but there is a difference in the features in each of them. A website is the same way.  Some features take a lot more time and are much more complex to create, some are simple.  Our pricing at Inline Web Design is based on how long it takes to create each feature. However, there are a lot of ways to create a website, with the features you need, and still stick to your budget.  We also offer payment plans.  We know times are tough, so we do our best to help you get the website you need at a price you can afford.
